Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission type optical sensor having less power consumption by allowing operation at an appropriate light-emission intensity. SOLUTION: In this transmission type optical sensor a detecting part 6 and an electron mirror part 7 are provided, the detecting part 6 emits a modulation beam 3 at a prescribed current value I, and informs the electron mirror part 7 of the light-emission intensity which is determined with the current value I by its modulation frequency (f). The detecting part 6 receives only a modulation beam 4 of the same current value I as is transmitted from the electron mirror part 7, and based on the presence of received light, changes the modulation frequency (f) and the current value I for adjusting light-emission intensity.
