Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a seismic movement detecting device which relaxes the shock of a plumb hob with a cylindrical case due to the generation of a seismic movement and which prevents a flaw or a deformation from being generated on the outer circumferential face of a plumb hob part constituting the plumb hob or on the inner circumferential face of the cylindrical case. SOLUTION: This seismic movement detecting device is provided with a seismic movement detecting unit 1. The detecting unit comprises a conductive bottom plate 2, an insulating material 3 which is formed on the outer circumference on the surface of the bottom plate 2, and a cylindrical case 4 which is installed on the bottom plate 2 via the insulating material 3, and further a lid body 5 which blocks up the upper end of the cylindrical case 4. The seismic movement detecting unit comprises further a plumb hob 6 which is formed in such a way that it is composed of a leg part 6b whose lower end is supported by the bottom plate 2 and which is molded in a rod shape and that it is composed of a plumb hob part 6b which is formed on the upper end of the leg part 6a. A conductive shock absorbing material 9 is arranged and installed either on the outer circumferential face of the plumb hob part 6b constituting the plumb hob 6 or on the inner circumferential face of the cylindrical case 4 with which the plumb hob part 6b comes into contact.
