Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cleaning an alkylene oxide adduct manufacturing plant, capable of not only effectively cleaning a reaction tank, a purification tank, a filter, a strainer, attached piping and the like of an alkylene oxide adduct manufacturing plant but also decreasing a cleaning time and reducing the amount of waste water, and the like. SOLUTION: When at least one equipment of a reaction tank 20, a purification tank 30, piping 11a-40a, a filter 40 and a strainer 50 is cleaned in an alkylene oxide adduct manufacturing plant A where an alkylene oxide adduct is manufactured by adding an alkylene oxide to an active hydrogen-containing compound and/or an ester, at least one of the following (a) and (b) as a cleaning medium is incorporated into the equipment to clean the equipment. (a) A multiphase flow comprising at least steam and water. (b) Water at a temperature lower than the clouding point of an alkylene oxide adduct. |
