PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate oil and sludge from the used recovered liquid of a coolant liquid or a washing liquid while recycling treated water. SOLUTION: A recovered liquid is sent in the pellet housing box of a floating oil tank wherein pellets 4, 4... made of a synthetic resin are sedimented to bond fine oil particles and other particles contained in the recovered liquid to the surfaces of the pellets 4, 4... and the bonded particles are increased in size to accelerate the separation of oil and sludge. Oil overflowed as floating oil is transferred to an oil-water separation tank 2 while sludge is sedimented on the bottom of the floating oil tank 1 to be taken out of a sludge discharge port 7. The floating oil is discharged from the oil-water separation tank 2 and water is sterilized in a sterilization tank 9.
