Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive communication system which can easily transmit various information to a crew, etc., in a vehicle by making use of characteristics of a signal provided at an intersection, etc. SOLUTION: The signal device 11 has its display parts 11a to 11c constituted by using light emitting diodes having different light emission colors. A signal transmission system 10 generates an illumination signal for making the display parts 11a to 11c illuminate by an illumination signal generating device 13, modulates information signals gathered from information transmission sources through a communication network by a modulator 15 and outputs a modulated pulse signal, and converts the modulated pulse signal into a pulse signal having the same cycles by an adder 18 according to the illumination signal and outputs the signal, thereby driving the display parts 11a to 11c by driving devices 12a to 12c according to the outputted signal. A signal receiving process system 20 receives the light signals emitted by the display parts 11a to 11c and converts them into an electric signal by a photodetecting element 22, demodulates the converted output signal by a demodulator 25, and formats the demodulated signal to the same output format by a formatter 26 and outputs it to a display 27, etc.
