PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressing jig used in piping welding for simply welding curved or bent pipes, and a piping welding method using such a jig. SOLUTION: This pressing jig 1 to be abutted from the inside of a welded pipe along a butt part of pipes, is equipped with plural backing pieces 2 which are bendably connected to each other in a chain form and brought into contact with the butt part as a whole in a ring shape, and an enerdizing element 4 for uniformly enerdizing the backing pieces 2 from the inside to the outside of a radius direction. The pressing jig 1 is inserted from an opening formed near the butt part of the pipes, and the backing pieces 2 of the pressing jig are brought into contact with the pipe from the inside along the butt part. Thereby, the pipes are connected to each other while preventing the molten metal from dropping to the pipe inside from a clearance of the butt part.
