Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sludge scraper causing no environmental problems or the degradation of strength even if a plastic made driving shaft is used. SOLUTION: In the sludge scraper provided with the driving shaft, a pair of chains travelling with the revolution of the driving shaft and sludge scraping plates attached to the chain at a regular interval and circulating in a settling pond with the travelling of the chain, the driving shaft is formed into a hollow square column and is supported freely rotatably with a fixed shaft 22 fixed to the wall surface of the settling pond at one end and projected toward the inside of settling pond and a sleeve 24 engaged freely slid ably with the fixed shaft 22.
