Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermoelectric module whose mechanical strength is high, and whose cooling efficiency is also high. SOLUTION: In this thermoelectric module, plural (p) type and (n) type thermoelectric elements 4 are alternately arrayed, and each thermoelectric element 4 is connected by plural electrodes 2 so as to be serially connected, and at least one substrate 1 is connected with the electrode 2. In this thermoelectric module, when the total cross-sectional area of the thermoelectric elements 4 is defined as A, and the area of the substrate is defined as S, the ratio A/S is set so as to be at least 0.42. It is desired that A/S is set so as to be not less than 0.45.
