Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a nitrogen fertilizer having a reduced mineralization rate by formulating a microorganism decomposition type nitrogen fertilizer with a metal salt having an antimicrobial action. SOLUTION: A microorganism decomposition type slow-release nitrogen fertilizer is formulated with a metal salt having an antimicrobial action selected from the group consisting of copper, zinc, cobalt, nickel, manganese and silver. The microorganism decomposition type slow-release nitrogen fertilizer is preferably ureaform, crotonylidene diurea or oxamide. The metal salt is preferably a sulfate such as copper sulfate, zinc sulfate, etc., a nitrate such as copper nitrate, zinc nitrate, etc., or a hydrochloride such as copper chloride, zinc chloride, etc. The amount of the metal salt formulated is 1-50,000 ppm calculated as the metal element based on the microorganism decomposition type slow- release nitrogen fertilizer. The decomposition activity of microorganisms in soil is suppressed by the antimicrobial action of the metal salt and the elution amount of nitrogen at the early stage of fertilizing is controlled so that fertilizer damage can be prevented. The fertilizer can reduce a labor for fertilizing operation and contribute to labor saving of agricultural operation. |
