Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic device and a unit thereof in which the number of printed boards to be mounted can be arbitrarily decided and which has sufficient strength. SOLUTION: This electronic device comprises a plurality of modules 1 (1a-1h) having a columnar frame body with openings on the top and bottom faces, a printed board to be fixed in the frame and provided with electronic components including connectors, and a connecting means provided in the frame and capable of connecting the frame with another frame so that the opening of the frame is overlapped with the opening of another frame. The plurality of modules 1 are joined so that the opening of each module 1, the joined modules 1 are connected by a connecting means, and connectors provided on the printed boards in the joined modules 1 are electrically connected.
