Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of slime in a wide pH range including a high pH region and also to peel and remove the slime. SOLUTION: This slime control method consists of being allowed to work a reaction mixture containing hypobromous acid and/or its water soluble salt and an N-monochloro-5,5-dialkyl-substituted hydantoin which are obtained by reacting hypochlorous acid and/or its water soluble salt, bromide releasing bromide ions in water and a 5,5-diazoalkyl-substituted hydantoin, in water. Also, another slime control method consists of forming hypobromous acid and/or its water soluble salt, and an N-monochloro-5,5-dialkyl-substituted hydantoin, in a water system, by that hypochlorous acid and/or its water soluble salt, bromide for releasing bromide ions in water and 5,5-dialkyl-substituted hydantoin are added to a water system and mixed. |
