Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photocatalyst material and a member with a photocatalyst activating the photocatalytic action of titanium by visible light, sufficiently developing photocatalytic function even by light of a fluorescent lamp or the like and reduced in the effect on a human body or the like. SOLUTION: In a member 1 with a photocatalyst, a photocatalyst layer (photocatalyst material) 3 is formed on one side surface of a member main body 2 constituted of ceramics or the like. The photocatalyst layer 3 is constituted by filling a low temp. fused glass layer with a catalytically active granular material comprising an Ag-titanium oxide composite compsn. wherein an Ag metal layer is formed on the surface of a titanium oxide powder based on anatase. This photocatalyst layer 3 is activated by the irradiation with light based on visible light and oxidizes and reduces the contaminant, fungi or harmful gas adhering to the member 1 with the photocatalyst or floating in the vicinity thereof to decompose the same into harmless carbon dioxide, nitrogen gas or water. |
