Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transmission type optical sensor which eliminates the need to provide a connection line for inputting a synchronizing signal from outside even when a synchronous detection system is employed so as to reduce the influence of disturbing light and to obtain a transmission type optical sensor which is prevented from malfunctioning owing to disturbing light without using the synchronous detection system. SOLUTION: A detection part 1 and an electron mirror pat 2 are installed opposite each other and both emit and receive light; and the electron mirror part 2 emits light when receiving light from the detection part 1 and the detection part 1 receives light from the electron mirror part 2 in synchronism with its light emission, and does not detect an object 3 when the synchronous light reception is carried on, but detects the object 3 when the synchronous light reception is ceased.
