PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grommet capable of enhancing easiness in inserting and sound shutoff performance. SOLUTION: A grommet 20 is composed of an electric wire fit-in part 23 of a small diameter to be fitted on an electric wire 22 penetrating a through hole 21a in a panel 21, a panel fit-in part 25 of a large diameter having at the periphery a fit-in groove 24 to the outer edge of the panel through hole, an inner cylinder 27 to be filled with a sealing material 31 having a space 26 inside the part 25 in the area to it where the base end is in communication with the wire fit-in part and the forefront is left open for filling of the sealing material 31, a tapered portion 28 to tie the panel fit-in part 25 with the inner cylinder 27, and a sound shutoff material abutting part 34 formed circumferentially at the periphery of the end of panel fit-in part 25 in its axial direction, to be mounted in the inside surface 32b of the opening 32b of the sound shutoff material 32 overlapping the back face of the panel, and forming a ring-shaped seal air layer 33 between the fit-in part 25 and sound shutoff material.
