Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adapter and deck for magnetic disk packs which is capable of easily setting the relatively small-sized magnetic disk pack to the deck which is capable of setting the magnetic disk packs of relatively large sizes. SOLUTION: This adapter has an adapter body 51 which is formed to nearly the same size as the size of the large-sized magnetic disk pack 10 and is insertable into a deck body 31, a housing section SB which is formed at this adapter body 51 and allows the insertion of the small-sized magnetic disk pack 20 regardless of the forward or backward direction of the front and rear surface thereof, a connector 52 which is disposed at the adapter body 51 and is electrically connected to the connectors 32A and 32B on a deck 30 side and connectors 54A and 54B which are disposed at the adapter body 51 and electrically connect the small-sized magnetic disk pack 20 and the connector 52.
