Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pop-up mechanism of a built-in flash which is capable of preventing the deformation and failure of a detaining means exposed from a camera body. SOLUTION: This pop-up mechanism has a light emitting part 111 which is supported by a supporting arm 411 held elastically energized at all times in a light emitting position direction and is movable between a housing position and a light emitting position, a detaining lever 421 which projects from a camera body, engages an engaging hole 413 of the supporting arm 411 existing in a housing position and detains the supporting arm 411 in the housing position and an armor frame 112 which forms the armor of the camera by covering the light emitting part 111, the supporting arm 411 and the detaining lever 421 in the housing position and integrating the same with the upper ornamental plate 103 of the camera body 101. The mechanism is provided with a protective projection 150 for protecting the detaining lever 421 near the detaining lever 421 projected from the camera body.
