Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flywheel which does not require the accuracy of shrink fitting to be strictly controlled, and which enables fixing by fitting that eliminates the fear of relative rotation between the flywheel and a ring gear. SOLUTION: In this flywheel 1 having a ring gear 2 shrink fitted around the outer periphery of the flywheel 1, a heat cutoff means (3) is provided between the inner periphery of the ring gear 2 and the outer periphery of the flywheel 1. Even if the flywheel 1 connected to the facing of a clutch is heated throughout travel, heat is seldom transmitted to the ring gear 2, so that an increase in inside diameter thereof can be effectively restrained. Soon after the stop of travel, the pinion gear of an electric starting motor is brought in mesh with the toothed part 2A of the ring gear 2 with the engine serving as a starting means so as to prevent relative rotation between the ring gear 2 and the flywheel 1, thus ensuring startup. |
