PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closure device for a vehicular door capable of decreasing the number of parts, miniaturizing a device and decreasing costs, and capable of improving the durability of a main driving member, a stopper member and a driving motor. SOLUTION: For instance, after a door 10 is completely closed or when the drive of a closure device is begun, a driving motor 33 is rotated, for instance, in a positive direction only at predetermined time to return the main driving member to a waiting position by rotating the driving motor 33, for instance, in the opposite direction, and detecting the movement of a main driving member 33 in a detected position based on the change of an electric value of the driving motor 33. In the waiting position, the main driving member 36 is away from the stopper member, and the main driving member 36 does not push the stopper member, so that the excessive load of the motor at the time of abutting the stopper member on the main driving member 36 is relaxed.
