Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a fixing roller withstand long use without having an influence on the fixing performance by independently controlling suction forces in a plurality of suction ports provided along the lateral direction of a continuous paper to correct the meander of the continuous paper. SOLUTION: A preheater 13 forming a suction means is provided in the sheet carrying directional upstream relative to a fixing device, and it has meander correcting suction ports 42, 43, 44, 45 arranged in a row along the lateral direction of a continuous paper 7, which are connected to a meander correcting suction blower through valves, respectively. When the continuous paper 7 is meandered by thermal shrinkage, the suction control is performed by the suction ports 42, 43, 44, 46 on the preheater 13. Namely, to the meandering direction of the continuous paper 7, the suction port on the side of suppressing this performs the suction to correct the meander. Since the control is performed according to each sheet width, the suction port is varied depending on the sheet width. Thus, the toner fixation to the sheet 7 can be uniformly performed, and the shorter life of the fixing roller (formed of a heat roller 14 and pressure roller 15) can be prevented.
