Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing method easy to handle by use of thermal beam by flashing by emitting a pulse-like ray including infrared ray into a prescribed space, and sterilizing the microorganisms or bacteria included in a matter to be sterilized within the prescribed space by the sudden temperature rise. SOLUTION: A light emitting device 2 applies a voltage between the electrodes of a discharge tube 3 on the basis of the signal from a control device 5, and the discharge tube 3 is constituted so as to be flashed at a prescribed time interval within a prescribed space enclosed by a casing. In a flash sterilizing device 1, a xenon discharge tube is used as the discharge tube 3 having a broadband spectral distribution. Namely, a pulse-like ray including infrared ray is emitted into the prescribed space to sterilize the microorganisms or bacteria included in a matter to be sterilized within the prescribed space by the sudden temperature rise. Particularly, the pulse-like ray including infrared ray is emitted to the Bacillus subtilis or chemical resisting bacteria floating the air or adhered to a matter, whereby they can be sterilized with thermal rays with sharp build up. |
