Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage of a glass tube. SOLUTION: This fuse comprises: a fuse body 1 composed of a cylindrical glass tube 2, electrodes 8 overlaid at both ends of the glass tube 2, and a fuse element 4 positioned in the glass tube 2 and installed between the electrodes 8; and an insulating tube 9 overlaid on the fuse body 1 and having a heat- contractibility. Since the fuse is composed like the above, even if the fuse is damaged, for instance, by a short-circuit test or lightning, the glass tube 2 constituting the fuse body 1 is never damaged because the tube 9 is overlaid on the fuse body 1. Since the tube 9 has the heat-contractibility, the degree of adhesion of the glass tube 2 to the tube 9 is further increased by the heat at the fusing of the element 4 of the fuse 18 so that the strength thereof is enhanced.
