Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dental composition which gives a cured product having excellent surface gloss, excellent transparency and excellent mechanical characteristics, has excellent operability and curability, and has an excellent X-ray contrast image property, by compounding a specific (meth)acrylate monomer, a filler comprising specific particulate silica and specific X-ray imaging glass powder, and a polymerization initiator. SOLUTION: This dental composition comprises (A) a (meth)acrylate monomer [for example, methyl (meth)acrylate], (B) a filler comprising (i) particulate silica having an average particle diameter of <0.01 μm and (ii) X-ray imaging glass powder, wherein the content of particles having particle diameters of >=0.01 μm in the component (i) is <=40 wt.%, and (C) a polymerization initiator (for example, acetyl peroxide). The difference between the refractive index of the component (ii) and the refractive index of the cured product of the component (A) is <=0.05. In the composition, the components (i), the component (ii) and the component C are preferably contained in amounts of 1 to 100 pts.wt., 50 to 1,000 pts.wt., and 0.001 to 10 pts.wt., respectively, per 100 pts.wt. of the component A. |
