Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool a screw and to reduce exchanging frequencies of a screw conveyor by providing a cooling water channel and a gas channel passing through a drive shaft of the screw conveyor. SOLUTION: A cooling water channel 4 through which cooling water passes is provided at a center within a drive shaft 1 to cool the drive shaft 1. Four gas passages 5 are provided around the cooling water channel 4 and a cooling nozzle 3 is provided on each gas passage 5 according to a position of a screw 2. As a screw conveyor, a Ni group heat resistant alloy one is used. The drive shaft 1 of 300 mm in external shape and the screw 2 of 700 mm in external shape are used. An inside diameter of the cooling water channel 4 of the drive shaft 1 is 60 mm, cooling water is flowed by 18 m3/H, four gas channels 5 of an inside diameter 30 mm are provided, four cooling nozzles 3 per round of the screw 2 are arranged and cooling is performed by air of 300 Nm3/H.
