Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a handrail with a light-emitting function being easy to see and safe even in a dark place, by a constitution wherein a light-emitting means constituted of a light-emitting element or luminous paint is provided in a part or the whole of the handrail. SOLUTION: A plurality of windows 30 for emitting light are formed in the surface portions of a main body part 15 at proper intervals in the vertical direction and light- emitting elements 14 are fitted therein from inside respectively. Light-emitting diodes are used for the light-emitting elements 14 on the occasion and they are mounted on a circuit board 32 disposed inside the main body 13 of a handrail. Next, wirings 34 are connected to the circuit board 32 through a connector 33 and the wirings 34 are passed through the inside of the lower end part 18, stretched over to the rear side of an inner wall surface 12 and connected to a power source. Lastly, a cover part 16 is fixed to the main body part 15 by screws 36. At the time of the use, the light-emitting elements 14 are lighted or turned on and off by output signals from a sensor which detects the surrounding brightness or by an operating switch fitted to the inner wall surface. According to this constitution, the possibility of failing to grip the handrail and getting hurt in a dark place can be eliminated and also design properties can be improved. |
