Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relax restraint on the amount of helpful information which can be displayed at a time by controlling operation of a display so that a control means displays a corresponding expanded version when an abbreviated version of an item is displayed on the display and is selected by a selection means. SOLUTION: Since one line of a display of a handset is not long enough to be displayed in a full text, words such as KING, PRAWN or JALFRENZI are displayed in clipped-word abbreviated versions on line 562 on display page 507. A user selects by moving a cursor onto the line 562 displayed in the abbreviated version. In a processor, operation of a display is controlled so that a full form (an extended version) of this abbreviated version is displayed when the cursor stays on this abbreviated version for a specified time or the user operates a specified key.
