Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chipping resistant pneumatic tire for of road. SOLUTION: This tire is provided with organic reinforcement overlays 22, 22b arranged in or under a tread 18 and/or a sidewall 20 and is used on an off road surface such as a mine. Low sulfer rubber 17 is used for a cover of organic reinforce material 11. Low sulfer rubber 17 jointly works with organic reinforce material 11 and combined with rubber forming the tread 18 and the sidewall 20 to help preventing generation of chipping and chunking. Organic strands and a cord 11 has a circular cross section and is of at least 2000 denier, (2200 dTex) and has 3.5 g/denier (31 cN/Tex) toughness at lest, 20 g/denier (177 cV/Tex) initial strength at least and 10% breaking elongation at least, and 10% shrinking at most.
