Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a low-cost gas blast circuit breaker, high in reliability, small in size, high in performance, and having a long service life, by providing a movable contact with a structure. enhanced in joint strength and impact strength, suppressing heat generation, and less liable to be damaged, and by making it up of appropriate materials. SOLUTION: A fixed surface 4a fixed to a puffer cylinder 7 of a movable current-carrying contact 4 and its first contact part 4c kept in contact with a fixed current-carrying finger 5 in its closed state are made up of oxygen-free copper. A portion keeping contact till last with the fixed current-carrying finger 5 while the contact 4 is being opened in the course of interruption, that is, a second contact part 4d, is made up of a copper-tungsten alloy, and the remaining portion, that is, a contact body part 4b, is made up of an aluminum alloy.
