Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear light source unit, where the intensity of illumination light is equal and which can improve the reading accuracy of an image sensor of a facsimile or the like, more than in conventional units and is small- sized and whose manufacturing cost is low. SOLUTION: In this linear light source unit, provided with a longer light guide member 11 emitting illumination light from a 1st side 11a and a light emitting member 13 whose light is made incident on the light guide member, a hole 14 is provided between the 1st side of the light guide member and a 2nd side 11b facing opposite to the 1st side, and the member 13 is arranged at a middle part on the side of the 2nd side of the light guide part in the longitudinal direction. The hole 14 defines its left and right interfaces 14a as paraboloidal, faces the member 13 between the left and right interfaces, is provided with a projection-shaped middle interface 14b below, makes a part of light made incident on the light guiding part from the light emitting member transmit the interface 14b and to emit from the 1st side, makes the other incident light reflected totally to the left and right paraboloids to divide it to the left and right and subsequently makes it emit from the 1st side. |
