Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate activated carbon recovered from the markets in a state scarcely containing calcium-based particles mixed with the activated carbon. SOLUTION: A slurry-forming means 2 is used for charging water and a recycled material comprising recycled carbon particles and calcium-based particles in a mixed state into the slurry-forming means 2 to prepare the slurry in which the carbon particles and the calcium-based particles are dispersed. A separation means 1 has a cylindrical container portion 4, a carbon particle- recovering portion 5 disposed on the upper side of the cylindrical container portion 4, and a calcium particle-discharging portion 7 disposed on the lower side of the cylindrical container portion 4. The slurry from the slurry-forming means 2 is charged into the cylindrical container portion 4 in its tangential direction and then revolved in the cylindrical container 4 to improve the dispersion of the carbon particles and the calcium-based particles. The carbon particles are floated on the upper side of the cylindrical container portion 4, and the calcium-based particles are precipitated on the lower side of the cylindrical container portion 4. Thereby, the carbon particles and the calcium-based particles can be separated from each other substantially without being mixed. |
