Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ultrasonic image forming device clearly forming a tomographic image in an appropriate direction in a three-dimensional image. SOLUTION: In a three-dimensional image forming command, a control circuit 3 allows a first switch 11 to be opened, a second switch 12 to be closed, a third switch 13 to be opened, and a forth switch 14 to be closed. The circuit 3 provides a transmission circuit 4 with a trigger, and a vibrator in the center of a two-dimensional array probe 7 with a transmission pulse. In an image forming command, the circuit 3 allows the first switch 11 to be closed, the second switch 12 to be opened, the third switch 13 to be closed, and the fourth switch 14 to be opened. The circuit 3 changes over a plurality of switches provided in a changeover circuit 6 so that the transmission pulse is provided for respective vibrators designated by line of an exciting line command. Finally, the circuit 3 provides the transmission circuit 4 with triggers at prescribed intervals to change a delay time of a delay circuit 5.
