Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater motor having long-time reliability by accurately grasping the insulation performance that is requested for each insulation component. SOLUTION: This underwater motor is provided with a high-voltage coil 1 and a connection part for connecting the high-voltage coil inside and is operated, while the high-voltage coil 1 and the connection part are immersed in water. In this case, a conductive layer 41 is provide, so that an insulation layer is partially covered on the surface of the covering insulation layer of the high- voltage coil 1 or the connection part, a lead wire 43 is drawn out from the conductive layer to the outside of the motor, while being insulated from the high-voltage coil and water, and the covering insulation layer is subjected to insulation diagnosis by an insulation diagnostic device between the lead wire, that has been withdrawn to the outside and the motor ground.
