Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molten metal vessel having a porous refractory part and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In the molten metal vessel composed of monolithic refractory 3, permanent brick 3 and an iron shell 1, in oder from the inside, the porous refractory part 4 having 20-80 vol.% porosity is lined at least in a part of the monolithic refractory 3. In the manufacturing method of the molten metal vessel, the permanent brick 2 is constructed in the inside of the iron shell 1, and successively, after inserting a core, the monolithic refractory 3 is poured, and after curing, the core is removed and firing is executed. In such a case, the core having projecting parts is inserted on the outer periphery of the core and the recessed parts of the monolithic refractory 3 developed with the projecting parts after curing and removing the core, is fired after filling the porous refractory. In this way, the damage of the integrally formed monolithic refractory 3 is restrained and the service life of the molten metal vessel is extended and smelting cost can be reduced.
