Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a stress from giving to a viewer caused by a reverse vision at an undesired time because display changeover between a normal vision and a reverse vision is not made in a stereoscopic display device in response to a motion of an object even when the object moves in an area at the outside of a proper vision. SOLUTION: The stereoscopic display device using a parallax barrier or a lenticular lens or the like is provided with a position sensor 8 that senses a position of a viewer, a display area revision means 10 that changes a forming position of a right eye image display area and a left eye image display area depending on the sensing result of the position sensor 8 to keep a proper vision state of the viewer. The position sensor 8 has a sensor light emitting section 4 and a CCD camera section 5, and the sensor light emitting section 4 and the CCD camera section 5 are placed so that an emission range of the sensor light emitting section 4 and a light receiving range of the CCD camera section 5 are in crossing around a stereoscopic vision position.
