Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give a satisfactory operating feeling to a driver by imparting a reaction to a brake pedal by an electric actuator. SOLUTION: When a brake pedal 13 is rotated while stroking a pedal part 12, the motor shaft of a rotating motor 19 is rotated through a reduction gear 18 connected to the rotating shaft 14 of the brake pedal 13. On the basis of the output from a rotary encoder 20 for detecting the rotating position of this motor shaft, a controller 27 calculates the torque necessary for the rotating motor 19 and outputs a signal to the rotating motor 19 to generate the necessary torque. The reaction to the brake pedal 13 is generated in a stroke simulator 10 in this way. Since the reaction and stroke are given to the brake pedal 13 by the rotating motor 19 that is an electric actuator, the reaction characteristic and stroke characteristic can be minutely controlled. Accordingly, this is applicable also to a brake device using no hydraulic pressure, and a satisfactory operating feeling can be given to a driver. |
