Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent scattering of toner eliminated by a blade when the elastic blade for cleaning is separated from a member to be cleaned. SOLUTION: In this cleaning device, a conductive member 71 to form an electric field for catching toner in a space 70 with an electric charge retained as a result of contact of periphery of an edge part 51a of the elastic blade 51 with the moving member to be cleaned 21 is provided on a surface faced to the member to be cleaned 21 of the elastic blade 51 and in a position in close proximity to an edge part 51a of that elastic blade 51 through the space 70.
