Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject treatment agent capable of imparting synthetic fibers with touch free from squeaky feeling and excellent wetting characteristics to dyeing solution by including each specific fatty acid ester and polyether. SOLUTION: This treatment agent is obtained by compounding fatty acid ester(s) 15-44 in iodine number consisting of a single product or mixture <10 deg.C in coagulating point prepared by esterification between 18-26C aliphatic monohydric alcohol(s) and aliphatic monocarboxylic acid(s) and a polyether 3,000-20,000 in weight-average molecular weight prepared by a total of 30-420 mol addition of ethylene oxide/propylene oxide in the molar ratio of (15:85) to (85:15) per mol of (hydrogenated) castor oil in the weight ratio of the fatty acid ester(s) to polyether of (100:10) to (100:50). This treatment agent is imparted at 0.05-3 wt.% to e.g. polyamide synthetic fibers to be subjected to crimping.
