Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a material expenditure and a machining expenditure for a packaging shock-absorbing member in such a degree as one in which a shock absorbing performance is not deteriorated. SOLUTION: There is provided a packaging shock absorbing member made of corrugated paper for holding a packaged item having some outward protruding protrusion structures within an outer box of hexahedron under its shock- absorbing state at one end of a quadrangular prism-like barrel, wherein it has an upper surface 7 supported on an inner bottom surface of the outer box spaced apart by at least two opposite directed raises side walls 5 and a rectangular insertion part 8 for inserting the barrel part of the packaged item is curved and formed at the central part of the upper surface 7. An inner wall 9 having substantially the same raised size as that of raised sidewall 5 is constituted by curving and forming the insertion part 8.
