Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly and effectively earth the charged on a conductive film of a multi-layered film, by providing an earth electrode formed by soldering an alloy solder mainly containing In onto an insulating film on the conductive film with ultrasonic vibration. SOLUTION: A multi-layered film 11 for providing conductivity and reflection resistance is formed on the outer surface of a panel glass 10. The multi-layered film 11 comprises a two-layered conductive film 12 and an outermost insulating film 13. Using a soldering iron with ultrasonic vibration, the insulating film 13 is coated and soldered with an alloy solder 14 composed of 95 wt.% In and 5 wt.% Ag, and the alloy solder 14 penetrates and reaches the conductive film 12 of an inner layer from the insulating film 13 of the outermost layer to form an earth electrode portion 15. The alloy solder 14 melts on the insulating film 13 under ultrasonic vibration and simultaneously penetrates and reaches the conductive film 12 to provide a conductive state to the conductive film 12. Degradation of conductivity of the earth electrode portion 15 by a heating process following manufacturing process of a cathode ray tube is extremely reduced, and stable characteristic as an electrode is maintained.
