Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject method comprising such a process that a food dough is continuously formed into a band-like dough, which is then continuously weighed and cut on a weighing conveyor to accurately produce a dough of a given weight as a chunky dough with the cut end causing no deformation. SOLUTION: This method comprises the following process: (A) a continuous band-like dough D2 is conveyed and discharged onto a weighing conveyor 23, (B) the band-like dough D2 is continuously weighed by the conveyor 23, and the continuously weighed value is compared with a preset cut weight value, and the position at which the band-like dough D2 is to be cut when the above both the values coincide with each other is stored in an arithmetic unit and the dough D2 is conveyed further, (C) on the conveyor 23, when the above position comes to the position of a cutting means 21, the dough D2 is cut by the cutting means 21 in response to the instruction from the arithmetic unit to obtain a chunky dough D3, (D) the chunky dough D3 is separated from the resultant band-like dough D2, and (E) after ending the step D, the steps B to D are repeated successively to cut the band-like dough D2 plural times, thereby producing a plurality of chunky dough pieces D3.
