Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst combustor wherein combustion followed by a flame, which might be caused upon a catalytic combustor being miniaturized and made light weight, is detected and avoided, and a long life of a combustion catalyst is achieved. SOLUTION: There are provided an air supply passage 1 for supplying air, a fuel supply tube 2 for supplying a fuel of combustible gas into the air supply passage L, and a catalytic combustor 5 including a mixing chamber 3 for mixing air and a fuel supplied through the air supply tube 1 and a combustion catalyst 4 for rendering a mixture of the fuel and air to oxidization reaction for catalytic combustion. There are further provided a sensor 6 disposed in or out of the catalytic combustor 5 for detecting combustion with a flame being produced in the catalytic combustor 5, and a controller 7 for adjusting the amount of a fuel supplied to the fuel supply tube 2 and the amount of air supplied to the air supply tube 1 based upon a signal outputted from the sensor 6. When the sensor 6 detects combustion with a flame, the controller 7 is actuated to control the amounts of supply of air and a fuel to the mixing chamber 3 and hence interrupt the combustion followed by a flame.
