Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone set capable of reducing memory capacity and supporting cost increase by lowering the rate of storing data unnecessary for a user by reloading data from a service center through a telephone line. SOLUTION: The telephone set connected through a telephone line 110 to the service center for providing information is provided with a DTMF receiver circuit 208 for receiving the information of a telephone number and area information correspondent thereto from the service center, a memory 211 for writing the information received by the DTMF receiver circuit 208, a telephone control part 222 for comparing the telephone number stored in the memory 211 with a caller telephone number coming from the telephone line 110 and an audible tone output circuit 212 for reporting the area information stored in the memory 211 on the basis of the compared result.
