Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily remove a jammed recording medium and to highly hold the relative positional accuracy of a transfer device and an image carrier by regulating the position of a transfer cover in an up-and-down direction with respect to a plotter main body when a transfer cover is closed and locking the transfer cover to a plotter part. SOLUTION: The width of respective 1st recessed parts 31 and 31A and the diameters of pivot pins 36 and 36A are set so that the transfer cover 3 may not get play in a horizontal direction when the transfer cover 3 is closed. When the cover 3 is closed, respective 2nd recessed parts 37 and 37A are fit to respective upper and lower positioning pins 38 and 38A without getting play. Meanwhile, lock levers 39 and 39A are slightly turned counterclockwise as the cover 3 is closed, locking pins 40 and 40A get over the leading ends of the levers 39 and 39A. When the cover 3 is perfectly closed, the leading hook parts of the levers 39 and 39A are engaged with the pins 40 and 40A by the action of a spring so as to lock the cover 3.
