Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing data converter, the conversion method of printing data, and a medium recording the conversion control program of the printing data capable of deciding the changeover of plotting capacity based on the kind of and the version information on an application program for issuing a printing command, and capable of switching to appropriate plotting capacity. SOLUTION: When a printing request is issued from the application program 100, a user interface 101 obtains the kind of and the version information on the application information 100. A printer driver 103 decides the appropriate plotting capacity, that is plotting capacity for minimizing the data amount of the printing data accompanying the printing request, based on a correspondence table, and switching to the plotting capacity is executed. Thus, the transfer amount of the image data generated based on the printing data transferred by the printer driver between a computer 10 and a printer 30 is reduced, thereby accelerates printing processing.
