Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To embody a process for producing polymer contact lenses which is capable of producing the lenses having good quality even if the special gas environment is not used. SOLUTION: This process consists in cast molding the polymer contact lens between two half molds within the atmosphere (air) environment containing oxygen molecules. The half molds for shaping a molded shape are exposed to this environment. The air exposure time which is the time after opening of the injection molds used for production of the half molds to the assembly of the half molds is below 70 seconds, more preferably below 40 seconds and most preferably <=24 seconds. |
