Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus which is capable of realizing a sufficient simulation operation within the irreducible minimum movable range and can be constituted to a small size by setting the movable range to the downward direction for the front part of a cockpit larger than the movable range for the upward direction by taking the characteristics of a vehicle for simulation into consideration. SOLUTION: This apparatus has a motion base 12, a cabin 14 which is placed on the motion base 12 and the cockpit 16 which is housed in the cabin 14. The front side of the cockpit 16 in the initial set state before the operation start is displaced by an offset angle θn in the upward direction with respect to the neutral point of the movable range of the motion base 12. The cockpit 16 is maintained in the horizontal state and the motion base 12 is set by displacing the same by the offset angle θn in the upward direction with respect to the front side of the cockpit 16 via an inclination table. As a result, the movable range of the pitch operation may be sufficiently assured without imparting the odd feel by the inclination of the cockpit 16 before the start of the operation to a driver.
