Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform accelerated stable cooling with high cooling efficiency and prevent excessive cooling of a web while preventing the cooling water from running over by inclining, downward from the level, nozzle axes of many nozzles formed in side guides to sandwich both flanges from both sides of the line and guide them. SOLUTION: From guides provided with many cooling water nozzles 3 which also act as side guides 4, cooling water is sprayed to the outside surface of flanges 2 of a wide-flange shape steel 1. This sprayed cooling water is divided into multiple blocks 5 which can independently make flow control and on/off control, and each block 5 is provided with a flow rate valve 6 for flow control and an on/off control valve 7. With this cooling equipment, it is possible to move the side guide 4, a cooler itself, close to the flange 2 to be cooled, and since the side guide 4 itself is provided with the cooling water nozzles 3, the nozzles will not be broken even when the cooling water nozzles 3 are brought into contact with the wide-flange shape steel 1. The pitch of the cooling water nozzles 3 can be optionally selected and high-density cooling can be done.
