Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the manufacture and to lower the cost of a damping device for damping the torsional vibration of a transmission by providing plural compression springs forming a damping means so as to work between first and second abutment parts integrally formed with an input and an output members. SOLUTION: A double-mass flywheel forming a torsional vibration damping device is provided with an input flywheel mass body for supporting a starter ring and an inertia ring arranged in the periphery side and an output flywheel mass body arranged opposite to the input flywheel mass body. The input and the output flywheel members are relatively rotated while resisting a damping means including a bob weight type connecting part 14, a compression spring assembly 15, an elastomer spring 16, a friction attenuating device 17a provided outside in the radial direction, and a unit board type friction attenuating device 17b provided inside in the radial direction. The compression spring assembly 15 is provided so as to work between a first and a second abutment parts 20, 21 projected from the input and the output flywheel mass bodies.
