Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the picture of high quality without a gap between a boundary and a compilation area by executing a prescribed processing on an extension area wider than a prescribed range by prescribed quantity based on picture data and an area signal designating the prescribed range of picture data. SOLUTION: An arbitrary range to be compiled in a white/black original is previously marked by a red marker, for example. The respective picture signals of RGB which are read in the original are converted into HSL space and are binarized as the MARKER signals of three colors of R, G and B and the picture signal of Bk. The MARKER signals are inputted to an area generation circuit 216. The picture signals thinned at every four picture elements and at every four lines are written into a memory 303 for the respective colors. Plotting IC 305 retrieves the address where the R picture signal is written in the memory 303 and executes compilation for painting out an inner part surrounded by a boundary on the retrieved address corresponding to the position of the red marker.
