Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrification device which makes it possible obtain uniform electrification performance and is capable of withstanding a long-term use without the occurrence an image defect by the supply of excessive water to an image carrying member and an image forming device using the same. SOLUTION: A sealing member 10 for holding a liquid ionic conductive medium 11 so as to prevent the leakage of this liquid ionic conductive medium 11 in the state of bringing the liquid ionic conductive medium 11 into contact with a member to be electrified is constituted by arranging the sealing member 10 in such a manner that at least the side walls on the downstream side in the moving direction of the member to be electrified face each other via a slight spacing from the surface of the member to be electrified.
