Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an acaricide expressing remarkable acaricide effects for Tarsonemidae by bringing the acaricide to contain a lower alcohol having an allyloxy group and hydroxy group as an effective ingredient. SOLUTION: This acaricide contains a 4-7C alcohol (e.g. 2-allyloxyethanol, 3-allyloxybutanol, 4-allyloxypropanol, 5-allyloxybutanol, 3-allyloxy-1, 2- propanediol, etc.), having an allyloxy group and one or two hydroxyl groups as an effective ingredient. The subject ticks are organisms belonging to Arthropoda-class, Arachnida-order, Acarina, especially Pyroglyphidae, Epidermoptidal, living a lot in beddings and causing for allergic diseases are cited as the main subject. The acaricide can be suitably applied to housings such as a storage place, a footwear cabinet and the like, warehouses, floors, corridors, tatami-mats, carpets, mattresses, sofas, stuffed toys, especially bedding articles such as beddings, pillows, blankets, sheets and the like.
